Build the Business Before You Build the Bid
Government contracting doesn't begin with a solicitation. Before a business can pursue government opportunities, it needs a clear business identity and an organized foundation.
In this beginner-level Foundation course, you'll learn what it means to form a business, recognize common business structures, and understand how legal name, ownership, control, and business records help establish the identity of a business.
You'll also learn an important distinction: forming a business is not the same as registering as a government contractor.
Through a simple scenario, you'll see these concepts working together and learn where FORM fits within the GovClass™ Government Contractor Pathway™:
IDEA → FORM → PROTECT → IDENTIFY → REGISTER → COMPETE → PERFORM
No prior government-contracting experience is required.
GovClass™ Learning Standard:
SEE IT → NAME IT → UNDERSTAND IT → TRY IT → CHECK IT → FIND YOUR NEXT STEP
